This is the cover art for a mix. A mix, for all intents and purposes should have been made about eight months ago. I just hadn’t gotten around to it but then when I got notice that Mediafire may be lost to us soon I decided to get my ass in gear and put this out there.

It is a fanmix for fandom. It is a fanmix for Labyrinth fanfiction. It is not a fanmix for the movie. Seriously. It doesn’t work. This is for Jareth and Sarah, not necessarily Jareth/Sarah but Jareth and Sarah as characters. I’ve seen every incarnation of these characters you can imagine in fic, but the one that rings true with me and the one that is my personal inspiration in my own writing is Jareth and Sarah as warriors. The are fighters before they are lovers. They would die before admitting their love for the other. But oh, how they love each other. It’s almost vicious, an obsession that neither ever quite got over. So now they will turn the world upside down and fight to their last breath to get what they want which is consumption. They want to consume the other. They want all parts of them and they want them to be theirs alone. They are wolves. They are both the villains in this story, if there is a villain at all. If all is fair in love and war they play both sides.

This is not a relationship of gentle tenderness. This is a relationship of desire and need. That’s not to say that they’re not good for each other, because they are. They’re the only one who really properly understands who the other person is at their heart. Despite what they might pretend to be, their fantasy is nothing compared to the reality. This is a couple who has fought for everything they’ve ever had together. They know what they have is precious and something they will likely always be fighting for. But that’s what makes them want it more. It is not for the incarnation of Jareth and Sarah that cries as they run into each other’s arms kissing and claiming all is forgiven. They will always be at odds, that’s who they are. Sarah manipulates and tricks, making bargains and deals with anyone who will take them. Jareth does not take no for an answer and takes what he wants when he wants it. They deserve each other, these warriors.

She is killing me but I’ll love her to death.
He’s killing me but I’ll love him to death.

Do not misunderstand, these two characters want to be together. They want to be together desperately. But there aren’t just obstacles, there is a labyrinth between them. Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered though, they will fight their way to the centre of the Labyrinth to take back what is theirs.
