Description I made this necklace using wire wrapping techniques with green onyx beads, sterling silver beads, sterling and fine silver wire.

I shaped the 18 ga wires to follow the lines of green onyx rhombus bead and hammered them to enhance the sturdiness of the frame. I made loops with twisted sterling silver wire to get the imitation of filigree and then tightly wrapped all the parts together with 26 ga fine silver wire, adding sterling silver beads and few swirls to soften the geometric frame.
I made the chain, combining links made with twisted sterling silver wire formed into "eights" and links made with sterling silver beads and faceted green onyx rondelles.
Necklace is oxidized and polished and I think, that was the final touch in achieving the elegant, vintage look.

Focal measures 46 x 36 mm (1.81 x 1.41'').
Necklace is 50 cm (19.69'') long with additional 4 cm (1.57'') of rings for length adjustment.
Handmade clasp measures 27 mm (0.78'').

Alcina is a sorceress from Greek mythology who ruled over a magical island. When she tired of her lovers, she turned them into animals, trees or stones.
