OMGGGG! im so damn blond...of course the "hole" doesnt show until youve rendered, because the shadows dont show before either, so yes it is a shadow dammit! *note to myself:- do not render this type of fractal with shadows *

Now I'm in Washington, DC - I spent 15 years in Hamburg, and I would still probably call Hamburg home. Born in Portsmouth on the south coast of England. Spent 40% of my life abroad, and in no real hurry to go back Where are you based in Germany - do you like it?
AmorinaAshton In reply to Pharmagician [2009-03-12 02:15:58 +0000 UTC]
Im in Karlsruhe in the nice south part where its warm but ive moved around all over the place over the years, from east to west and south and occasionally for very short periods north, but i only visited hamburg once lol. I was in portsmouth twice though Hmm like, yes its ok, its a place to live like any other i guess, the german beaurocraty gets on my nerves sometimes. I always said its not a place i want to die but now my mum and my sister have sadly died so i dont really have a home in england anymore...looks like im stuck here
Pharmagician In reply to AmorinaAshton [2009-03-12 02:42:44 +0000 UTC]
I've been to Karlsruhe once - it's the SW of Germany that I don't really know well. I've been to or lived in most of the other areas (except the 'new" Bundesstaaten - I left in 1999). The beaureacrats got me down too, but you just have to go with it! I liked that fact that it's so close to the rest of Europe!
AmorinaAshton In reply to Pharmagician [2009-03-12 02:50:52 +0000 UTC]
Yes, its easy to get to other countries from here (except america sigh ) Karlsruhe is really a very lovely place and situated great, near switzerland and austria, so thats cool, also not far away from stuttgart and heidelberg or mannheim. And lake konstanz is also only 3 hrs away, i really like being in the south, not just because of the weather but there is a lot to do/see here I lived in east germany 9 years after the wall came down, it wasnt as bad as people think, especially not after the towns started building things up again...now some of the areas are even prettier and more modern that in west germany

AmorinaAshton In reply to Pharmagician [2009-03-11 22:51:24 +0000 UTC]
On the other hand, ive just studyed it again and the shadows are not quite as dark as that particular part, the shadows are more dark blue, and this is really black...its a hole
Pharmagician In reply to AmorinaAshton [2009-03-11 23:14:45 +0000 UTC]
Curiouser and curiouser - if we're talking about the same place (top of the gold section) then I still see "brown" shadow because the section has the "striped" texture - if it were a hole it would be completely blank. IMHO... Or are we talking about a different place?
AmorinaAshton In reply to Pharmagician [2009-03-11 23:21:21 +0000 UTC]
Yep same place lol, top middle golden part brown? ohhh its totally black on my screen, and i dont see any stripes it really is a hole believe me, its supposed to be mirrored, so it should look like the bottom middle part. Lol im going to put it on full size, maybe it can be seen better then... 2 secs
AmorinaAshton In reply to AmorinaAshton [2009-03-11 23:24:47 +0000 UTC]
hmmm i still dont see any stripes but it does now look a bit more brown than black As soon as im finished here im gonna search for the par file and load it again, cos im quite sure it wasnt there before i rendered

This is the popcorn city style, took me ages to understand it and you need to work a lot with depth and stretching. The larger the radius of the shape the more it fills the popcorn pattern. Hit Amorina I LIKE the 'missing spot' at the top. I think it makes the sculpture that is featured look like an ancient releck that was once lost and is now is found, polished up and on display to show off it's grace and wisdom from age.

despite the black hole I think it does lean in gnarling direction...i would just fix the void in photoshop and not worry about it .The color scheme is awesome as well ...keep on gnarling
AmorinaAshton In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-03-10 15:08:49 +0000 UTC]
Thanks hun, but fix in Ps ? No Iwona, i dont mind or judge people who manipulate fractals, there are some nice ones , but i do not, i want pure fractaling, and yes im stubborn on that
Fiery-Fire In reply to AmorinaAshton [2009-03-10 20:05:14 +0000 UTC]
well as you wish ...I don't find fixing something like that is a crime, it looks like software or shape glitch and im not talking about tweaking the piece just patching the black spot - I would still consider it But yes , its up to you
AmorinaAshton In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-03-10 22:21:37 +0000 UTC]
i know hun, but how on earth would you fix a hole like that, youde have to be an expert at PS to recreate that pattern, shading, light, fine lines, so that its not noticeable...if i wanted i could re-render it And like i said before, its not a crime no, but its not for me
Fiery-Fire In reply to AmorinaAshton [2009-03-11 04:32:18 +0000 UTC]
haha...ok I could fix it but ...on the other hand - there might be a joke in the comment saying .....the black holes gravity sucked part of the fractal inand if you don't fave this piece fast enough .....next week the whole image might be black (that's what i would do)This way the hole is legitimately intentional
AmorinaAshton In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-03-11 22:53:30 +0000 UTC]
