“I Was Just Taking a Drink”
Tyrannosaurus rex, Ornithomimus velox, Cedrobaena brinkman. An acrylic painting of Helushka, the Tyrannosaurus, being harassed by a flock of Ornithomimus as he completes his drink at the local watering hole.
This was a relatively quick painting I did in between projects and nursing assignments. Inspired by both the landscape art by Yuri Vasendin and an image I took of my cast of David Krentz’s Regina Mundi a few years ago, I wanted to create a scene where it just showed Helushka carrying out some everyday aspects of his life.
I thought I should post this online this week as the full trailer for Prehistoric Planet just dropped and I am just in love and excited for it.
Completed in mid April 2022.
Done using acrylics, color pencils and Photoshop 2022.
