steven suggested they go out and get pizza as peridot’s first Real Earth Food (to wean her off the fuckin toothpaste) but on the way there though the big green idiot couldnt stop itching her sanded gem which hurts like a real bad sunburn when touched

its unusual for peridots to not be facet cut in their nicest form, so we have this headcanon that it was sanded down back on homeworld, likely as a punishment for some sort of failure or misconduct
