Hehe pretty Aboriginal-esque, I think. It does sort of remind me of the tapestry/painting/whatever art it was of an Aboriginal myth I saw in a book one time...

You know the Dreamtime myth? Like know, know it? Like...not just know of it, but know the whole story?! *has just heard of the Aboriginal Dreamtime*
(I'm a mythology geek in training, that's why I'm getting all obsessed)

No I don't know, I vaguely remember being told about them at school but this one came from my subconscious. Pulled it out the hat and looked at it to discover that it was dream time like in style and theme....Then I had fun drawing all the golden details. Need to learn more about the Aussi people, but I'm going there in December so I believe they still have a few left after all the white mans slaughtering... not many but some.. But I hear there is more living evidence and history in Western Australia and I'm going to Sydney.... So I'll have to settle for stuffed museum exhibits perhaps.

I suppose museum exhibits are better than nothing, though. (You're going to Australia? That sounds so cool!!!)

Awesome. Who's the little dude bottom left?

The tiny wee green dancing dude is rejoicing in the real King's victory over evil. The real King being the guy with the really long neck... The true King. The other decapitated figure be the false deity who has been cut down in his profanity by the gods themselves. And blood washes over and rejuvenates the land...

All very profound huh!

your work is always so amazing to look at! and the gold pen you've been using really adds a special touch.

p.s. dreams (and myths) seem to operate according to their own logic. sometimes its violent, sometimes overwhelmingly joyous, almost always hovering at the edge of a meaning we can never quite decipher--a parallel to art itself.

Thank you for having a look at this! Dreams are a special subject to work with as everyone can relate to them, even if they are most bizarre and outlandish.

Very nice. The dream world is quite a dangerous place, the unconscious does not have the restrictions of the conscious mind..so in dreams you can touch any kind of knowledge..

That seems to be true from what I found in this one! I was quite shocked there was such a bloody scene unfolding before my eyes.
