I'd like to present to you all a hand painted tote bag of mine, inspired by the famous Vocaloid song, Matryoshka! Whilst watching the music video on Youtube, the song wasn't the only thing that ended up etched upon my brain. I was also seriously geeking out over the video's crazy art style! So naturally, it was only a matter of time before I was itching to paint up a garment of mine in a similar way. Although I love the Matryoshka hoodies that other people have already created, I wanted to customise something different. Coincidentally, I already had an undecorated orange cotton tote bag, which looked in desperate need of some jazzing up. That's where I came in! I simply used a fading ink marker to roughly sketch out the mouth and eye shapes, before filling these areas in with black fabric paint. After that, I added in the eye shines and teeth with white fabric paint (freehand)! Miraculously, I didn't smudge anything. That's a big victory, as far as I'm concerned!

I feel the final result looks very effective - it's already had quite a few compliments! This is great, especially considering that this bag used to just hang in my room gathering dust for several years. As such, I'm really glad I got to do something creative with it. I'm forever using tote bags, since they're so versatile. So I'll definitely be getting some much-needed use out of this one! Hope you like this, guys!
