I would recommend this super awesome fantasy novel series to ...basically everyone!! I can go on and on about it *keeps on reading the books again and again*
Anyways, she's one of the magical faerie (we call it Fae) who seduces men then kills them.
I tried my best to follow her description:
Her "Eyes (are) unlike anything i had ever seen. They were a striking color, a sort of twilight blue. They were fascinating. In fact, there wasn't any white to them at all..."
"Her lips were the shade of sunset skies
Her closed eyelids were patterned like a butterfly wing's, swept in whorls of deep purple and black with traceries of pale gold that blended to the color of her skin."
Her eyes were the hardest to portrait (no white part made me struggle a bit), but I'm happy with the result

Excellent!!! Love her face, and the background is amazing too!! But I always thought she was a bit ummm.... less buxom (?)... I'm untrained in the art of poetic language, so I shall have to take recourse to the uncouth language of our people: Her boobs are bigger than I imagined.Β
While reading the book, I imagined her (proportions) to be a bit different. But I guess that is a big '+' about reading and imagining a literary work on your own.

You know. A few weeks ago I picked up the Name of the Wind book and I read in TV Tropes the name "Felurian". It sounded vaguely familiar to me, I was raking my brains to figure out: "DARN! Where did I hear that name before." Time past then I forgot all about it. Today I enter deviant art and figure I find some Kingkiller Chronicles fanart. I type in the name Felurian and surely enough your deviation is the first one to pop up.Β
Then it hit me: "D'oh, fack! I suggested this deviation as a DD without realizing the character is from Kingkiller Chronicles!"

I love her facial expression. Very loyal to the book description, or at least to what I always thought. Really awesome. But, maybe for my natural desires to a woman body as a man, I find her breast something strange, I don't know what is, but they don't seem to match to me with the rest of the body, like disproportionate. I feel that the whips, her left whip principally, and maybe that is it, needs to be a little more big, and a bit of the shoulders to be full proportionate. Or the breast a little more, just a little, smaller.
But don't take that too seriously, actually is more strange how much I thought of it.
Your draw is really great, is the truly best art of Felurian that I ever seen. (And more complete than my imagination. Thanks!)

Are you excited about The Name of the Wind TV show that's coming? 20th Century Fox bought up the rights. I'm sure this will give Patrick Rothfuss more incentive to finish the third book.

I love the butterflies. o.o They're so pretty... (trails off) She's awesome! I always imagined her with white hair, and softer looking, but this is gorgeous, and the black really works. Nice job!

No, I haven't heard of it. I was actually looking for another good series to read like KKC; what is it about?

It's about a young woman (17 years-old) set in a Victorian era in England (in a boarding school) who discovers she has the power to travel to let's say another dimension XD and while she has to discover things there, she also has to cope with becoming a lady in that society. The first book is called "a great and terrible beauty"

This is amazing. I'm reading this chapter right now and you've just drew her almost exactly the way I was imaginating! Beautiful portrait, awesome character choice and breathtaking novel!!

The lighting and the feel of the of the piece is wonderful! The anatomy leaves a fair bit to be desired though. There's been plenty said about her boobs, so I don't think I should really grind any points in - aside from the lighting on them, which I don't buy (the cold highlight hits the top, the warm under light hits the bottom but... how come her ribs get just as much of that top light as the top of her boobs?).
The twist in her body and the shadow on her right side is really awkward - where it feels like she should be in relaxed controposture, she's moving her left side forward yet, by the line of her navel, she's also standing straight on?
Her face is a little odd - the features seem to float about it, not really grounded. This is possibly due to the slight tilt and angle - her features are just a bit out of kilter. Not too sure about the hair either - it's not falling all that naturally, kinda seems clumpy.
Anyhoo, nice butterflies
