But digital drawing is so difficult.
You improved a lot from when you joined DA, your last works are amazing. Seriously, I hope I will manage to improve like you and reach your level. But I have to work very hard.

You have maybe some tip for me? I found a lot of SAI tutorials, but some of them are for noobs ("Look. This is the pen. With this you can trace lines." "OMG, FOR REAL? "), then some others are for pro ("Hi. In this tutorial we'll learn how to draw photorealistic human skin, atom by atom." " ").

But yer right, it is true thou. But I'm not good at giving tips (<<< saddest excuse ever -.-'' )
No but it's true... You have to find your own style, when it comes too drawing.
Because you can draw in so many different styles with Sai.
So actually you only need to know what the effect of each tool is, and how to use them.
Btw, I almost NEVER use the ''pencil'' tool. I always use the ''brush'' tool. You just can do more with it....

Lol, I can understand you, I'm totally unable to give any kind of tip.
I tried probably all the tools, but I'm extremely far from being actually able to use them.
Initially, I used the Binary tool to make linearts. I used to trace manually the whole drawing, with the binary pen. Recently, I discovered the "Linework" function, that allows me to make better linearts in much less time, using just the mouse.






I'm a noob.
So, I just have to make more experiments. I must find my "favourite tool" and become good at using it.

I never use the binary tool It's a really weird tool

And I don't use the Lineart function either xD Cuz that lineart is more for cartoonish drawing.
Because my lineart is pretty detailed, and somehow the lineart layer is really odd

Lol, I think this is the unequivocal proof that I have still so much to learn.

I often use the binary pen, because it feels spaces without making color shades. So, you don't use Linework? °_° What tool you use for lineart? I tried with pen, marker, ink, etc, but I can make linearts only using Binary or Linework. And what kind of brush you use? I mean, I have only one type of brush in my SAI, lol.

Sorry for the great amount of questions. I'm a SAI noob that wants to learn.

Well you can change the settings of that ''brush'' tool.
For the lineart I use ''simple brush'' . With a ''min size'' of: 7
And the size of the brush depends on how big your canvas is.
Mostly my brush size for lineart is between 5 and 9.

Thanks for the tips, for the next lineart I'll make I'll use a brush of min size 7.
Anyway you're right, linearts made with Linework are too cartonnish, and linearts made with Binary are just terrible.
