A space filled with steadily growing fungal blooms and fractal trees, floating between lakes unbound by gravity in the pale and sickly light of a worm-bright star.

The Cthulhu Mythos has a race of aliens called the "Mi-Go", who are kinda insectoid-looking fungal creatures which have a base on Pluto or maybe Yuggoth (evil Pluto).
They like taking peoples' brains out.
When coming up with my own spin for Panspermia, what struck me was the blending of insectoid and fungus, so... what if the Cordicytes were intelligent fungus puppeting the bodies of a species of giant insect?
