Description
Various paintings of Judas Iscariot, from different Gospels (not just limited to the Synoptic ones). For my Western Traditions class (unit on Christianity). I drew something for the unit on Judaism too, which the teacher liked enough to ask for a print of it, but it just gets slightly more embarrassing every time I see it...This one, though. I think I'm pretty happy with this one.
I would like to dedicate this to the two chocolate-chip cookies I stole from the dining hall, for keeping me alive for the full six hours I worked on this. Yes, Sophia, wait until the night before it's due to draw everything. Brilliant idea. Just brilliant.

This is amazingly beautiful! It really catches the emotion.
Although, silly question because I'm dumb: does the bottom picture show Judas going into Heaven, or am I missing something?

This is excellent. Always had a soft spot for poor old Judas. He's not as bad as some make him out to be, and anyway, if the Bible's right, he was a vital part of the whole sin-forgiving-by-Jesus process.

It is, actually *__* In part because the teacher is so cool, he makes every class so interesting ;_; (I think he was a game programmer for LucasArts before he came here, too)

oh god, well...he wasn't supposed to be portrayed so great in that first one (that's him from...marklukejohn), but I guess personal prejudice got in the way of that one ;_;
OH GOD REALLY? THAT'S KIND OF TERRIFYING. I don't know if he would have been able to do that, though, since he hung himself in Matthew, and I'd imagine it'd be pretty hard to do the whole hanging thing after he cut his own guts out... ;_;

honestly I watched that bit on tv a while back where they said they were hung on the steak...
I didn't mean to day they cut themselves upon but rather that the actual hanging was them spilling their guts

ohhhhh this is cool XD holy magnificent. If you only look at the yellow part of the sun and not the hands, you can kinda make it look like the outline of an angel with really hugeass wings!

EYEBALL ANGELS? OwO ...You know I always thought angels looked cheesy and stupid but I'd totally convert if they were giant conglomerations of eyeballs I mean how AWESOME IS THAT
You can use photoshop actions or make a special brush to have a repeat pattern of little eyeballs or something that you can use wherever you like iunno

YES. in the old testament, they were fucking badass. i don't quite recall their exact incarnations, but i definitely remember MILLIONS OF EYEBALLS and MILLIONS OF WINGS and...doors, i think. doors.

fff oh god i think i could possibly get away with it, if I made like a dark blob for the main body, then blotted white over it, but made the white more 'transparent' at the edges to get orbs and...JESUS WHY AM I SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT THIS ;____________;
