Today's the day I embark on a "chore" my mum left me with for the day, and that is to investigate a series of attacks around the Swamplands.

According to her, about 20 people disappeared since the beginning of this week, with little survivors giving account to the events. Upon investigating, my mum concluded it to be the work of Bone Molds, a form of evolved slime mold that works in colonies to form a single working body. She warned me that the creature is dangerous, able increase the mass of their mold by murdering individuals and letting the bodies rot inside their body, where they'll eat it away and use the bones to hold their own mass together.

My mother entrusted me with the task, but I went ahead and invited some of my friends to see if they can aid me with my mission. Those who answered my calls were the Papple siblings Cy and Cora, the Eaglejay Aderyn and the currently one of the Frozen Princes Richard.

It was noon's hour when we reached the Swamplands. My father told me about it, he said it was infested with beastly creatures more vile and dangerous than the ones you would normally encounter in our forests, and it houses creatures known as the Nihilim, demons of the lowest and shapeless kind. Right then, I tired not to think of encountering demons or other animals, though what I don't understand is how did a Bone Mold braved enough to linger near the border between the Woodlands and the Swamplands knowing that civilization is around a few hundred miles. We got our answer soon enough.

What mother explained was a Bone Mold normally would grow about the length of two meters; what she failed to tell me is that a Mold can grow larger than that. We failed to notice the number of littered bones and it was too late when we realized the bones around us were moving and what we've been stepping on for the last 10 minutes were the mold themselves. The fiend forms a body and attacked us four.

It was an ordeal; our weapons failed to harm the creature since the damn thing's never had a body and it quickly reforms every time we sliced, dismember and even disembowel it. We got more than our share of close calls with it, but the creature's aggression's made the task harder as to dealing with it's size. But it wasn't until Cora figured a way to defeat it; reminding us the creature's mold, the creature is as flammable as a paper doused with liquor, so luring it out of the watery domain and luring it far enough to enter the rocky borders dividing my kingdom from the swamp, a quick shot of three enflamed arrows sets the creature on fire, reducing it to ashes and blackened bones in a matter of seconds.

It was nightfall when we decided to camp out and we returned no sooner in the morning, where our parents worriedly greeted us. I told my mum that the threat of the mold was taken care off, but she scolded me for tagging along my friends for such a dangerous labor. I took it all, but I don't care, cuz i know my mother's proud of me, and an adventure with my friends is all worth it.

Now I write this to you, little journal, in hopes for more adventure to come
