After being away for almost a year, I've come back
And I've brought a new Toothless drawing with me.This is another gift maybe I will give to a dear friend I've not seen in a loooong time. I hope she likes it, and of course I hope you like it as well.
I took the scene from the new HTTYD movie, in which Toothless and Hiccup are "fighting to death" between them, but obviously both are just playing and neither of them would dare to harm each other 'cause they're best friends. An adorable scene to watch.
It took me 4 hours aprox. to drew it. I used just a mechanical pencil and an eraser, and then I enhanced the contrast a little.
I guess I'll never get tired of drawing Toothless...

There's an argument that says that, without loss, then nice things have no meaning. It provides contrast for the characters, and we see they've earned their happy ending.
On the other hand, my main fanfic project at the moment involves time loops, including a HTTYD set. I subscribe to the opinion that "you only need to earn it once". So I'm working out all the various ways that that can not go badly, if the characters knew about it all beforehand.Β (Like, say, calling out Drago to a duel, but adding that, because Drago sucks so much, Toothless is going to wear a blindfold to even the odds. No only is it really very dramatic and, well, Viking... but it also renders the Bewilderbeest useless.

I guess you're right. There must be darkness to make the light shine bright over it. There needs to be sadness and happiness in order to show that the character is as human as us and that he has the same feelings we'd have in a determined situation, but there must be a balance between those two, otherwise it'd be too depressive or just too good to believe it.
I'm eager to hear more about your fanfic project, it sounds very interesting

Sweet! Probably from how everyone's get's humor out of Hiccup's discomfort. In Free Scauldy, Ruffnut made a funny imitation of Hiccup, and then there's Astrid's imitation of Hiccup (don't forget the nasal voice and moving arms) Β
