i actually think the fluidity of the lower part is a nice contrast to the tight detailing on the upper part

Hmmm...
I really like the fact that everything's measured up through squares and that you didn't erased them! Really, love that...i can't explain why...maybe it's because it transmits the idea that everything is very well scaled and constructable...
About the lower part, it's not that i don't like it, but it loses so much attention compared to the upper part that makes it kinda "unnecesary"

Incredible harmony in all them angles. Such a sharp, spastic and concentrated design... very meticulous! This is one of the best things I've seen in my time on Deviant Art, eh.
I reckon that dome-kinda-hanger, the bottom right of that, and that lip at the right edge of the foundation only improve the how absurdly detailed and intricately spun the tower is!

I like the lower part BECAUSE it doesn't fit the main part; it creates a much needed contrast. I really love your organic sense of architecture and your line quality. It has a Lebbeus Woods meets Jim Henson kinda quality about it. Kudos!

wonderful flight of fanciful heights and architectural delights.
and although i see what you mean, i don't mind the bottom a bit.
it feels right because this is so organic in its process and the bottom is
a natural part of that process.

wow thats fantastic. reminds me of something from that movie Wizards from the 70's or whenever it came out.. As far as the lower portion is concerned. I wasn't even paying attention to it. The wonderful activity happening in the top portion of this drawing were keeping my eyes from wondering. Perhaps just some more texture or something to make it as busy as the top part would make it come together better. or maybe even less would make it come together better so that you can tell where the structure becomes land because I get that feeling of structure on top and land on the bottom just because of the shapes. but i dunno this is just some awsome stuff. great work! fun to look at!

Sure that the lower part looks different... mmmmbut this is not too much disturbing for my eyes. I see it as a kind of basis of the structure, maybe the place where you can come in and connected to others 'structures'.

Looks absolutely amazing, I really like your imagination. As for the lower parts, I dont think there's anythign wrong at all. They are finished differently for sure, but that doesn't matter. The constructs need to look as if they are in a wider context, not just floating there, but equally what they are anchored to needn't be the focus of attention. So you've handled it as it should be.

This is quite fantastic. I love the massiveness of the upper structure and how it appears to still be growing. This giant tumor precariously poised on top of a support that at any minute will reach its maximum load and fail. I think the only reason the bottom gives you trouble now is that it is not as strongly rendered as the rest of the drawing. Its probably beacause it was a design in 2002 and now you are looking at the piece compositionally.

Well, well Analog77,
I like it a lot.
These are the things that I like especially:
+ the way the building seems to be put together of
lots of pieces, like a puzzle from a junkyard
Reminds me a bit about this deviation:

But ofcourse your style is different...
+I like the rough gridlines and I actually like the foreground,
it's like its attached to an airplane, or something like it, which
would be suitably crazy.
Hey, is it a person to the right?
I can see a face in profile!
Nice job,
x
