I'm still trying to get the lighting right on this one. I dunno, I'm still not really happy with it yet...I did this on a rather dark screen so the colors intensity might seem off.

First off, I'm glad to see you still working on this, that makes me happy.
Things I love:
I love the painterly quality that the blue shadow on the leather has. I also love the use of green as a highlight color, both are good choices in using a more natural lighting approach to the piece.
The textures are really excellent, you have a great eye for fibers and other textural components (the tongue is great as well).
I'm also horribly in love with the boarder, it reminds me of my childhood somehow, sort of like those holographic rainbow effects they used to to in cartoons when i was little. It sets the character apart and gives a nice graphical approach.
Things I would fix/extend/work:
I would like to see the blue shadow hue extend further onto the right side of his body (our left). I would also like to see some more texture in the belt. I would like to see a little more texturing and sharper highlights and shadows on the skin. I think the soft gradations are an excellent base to build some sharper values from.
Oh yeah, and its my desktop yet again XD teeeheeee I still love this piece very very much. Your approach to character, anatomy, personality and content are still top notch.

Awesome! I'm so happy I got a critique for this. I do find him too dark, so adding some highlights is the shadowy area is a great idea.
I need to make the textures on the belt more visible cause right now the size and value I have them on dont seem to be working. Thanks for pointing that out.
I'll definitely work on adding more blue shadows to his right side. Right now he has no texture on his skin at all, so adding some sounds like a great idea.

Its no problem hon, honestly its a great piece over all, and i really enjoy it (its my desktop! and im hella picky!!)
Though i wouldnt take anything i say as a be all end all, mostly because I aint perfect either ^_^ and by all means feel free to do it back, i dont mind at all ^_^

Yea, I have also looked up tutorials, some artists have great ideas and it is awesome they take the added time to do them to help others
