Here's a UNSC Corvette design I threw together. Not a canon design, just something I made up on my own, and then tried to fit into the UNSC design language a bit. As it's corvette class would imply, it's small and extremely fast, but not well armoured. It straddles the line between being a capital ship and something more like a large longsword. The idea is that it conducts hit and run tactics in groups, or accompanied by longswords, jumping into close proximity, using it's high speed to move in close for a strafing run, peppering the enemy with a snub-nose MAC, missiles, and rockets, and then jumping back out as soon as possible. This means it wouldn't really be part of the fleet during normal engagements, and would instead be off the main action, jumping in once the enemy is distracted by combat, hopefully giving the main fleet more time for a few more salvos while the covenant redirect their weapons. I just recently re-read the The Impossible Life and Possible Death of Preston J Cole, so the idea was inspired by the scenes of ships doing just that. Let me know what you think!
