**made this for the childhood theme in Cornipes this month**

Xander and Helios with their late father (and former king) Kreon. Although not the most faithful husband, he was quite the doting father, caring greatly for both of his sons.
Helios is the first born, his mother is the Queen of Patria. Xander was born a few years later to a servant girl, making him an illegitimate child, however Kreon was happy to have another son and insisted that Xander be part of the royal family. However, his mother was banished from Patria (by order of the queen), so Xander has technically never met his mother, though the bracelet he wears is from her.

Xander was an extremely shy child and has only gotten slightly less shy as a young adult. He was always appreciative of his position as a prince, even though he didnt and never will feel like he deserves to be, in fact he feels very awkward when people treat him like royalty. Helios however thrives on attention, as he was given it so much as a child and gets even more attention as the newly crowned king.

Both of Helios and Xander were pretty torn up about their father's death, but Xander especially since Kreon was the only parent he ever knew.

Despite being opposites on almost every level Helios and Xander have gotten along well since their childhood.
