Description That's not exactly how I imagine Feanor, but still... I don't know why it's the only image of my favourite Tolkien's character I've ever made

Character belongs to J.R.R. Tolkien

So... I reuploaded this scetch. I used this texture [link] for the background. Well, I'm a complete idiot in everything connected with PS so it took me really a lot of time
The scetch was done with a pencil

Well, to be honest, I discovered it after I saw your drawings ^^' I've read the lord of the rings, bilbo the hobbit and tom bombadil, but not the silmarilion and the others ^^'. But again, great idea !

The hair is very well done, it's "floating" looks natural.

Fëanor is my favorite Tolkien character too (scrap that, he's my favorite character in any fiction).

Feanoro, the fire spirit.... Yes, it is very well connected for me Also, love his character, also his sons and all their kin history. It's very tragic and terrified sometimes but still it's beautiful..

That's right... But I'm also always pretty depressed about him.. Madman and genius, lover of beauty and murderer at the same time... EH:<

Me too... And his sons. all their story and message that it brings... Eh, if I didn't have to read obligatory books for my school at the moment, I would read Silmarillion one more times..

Don't know how's it going in your country, in mine school program was rather boring. You're very strong willed. I mean, in most cases I just ignored it and read what I want

ViikingitValk In reply to Anarielhime [2011-04-07 11:30:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, the problem is that some of these books I consider as very well! For example I've been reading last time "The Crime and Punishment" of Dostoyevsky(it will be something like this in English, won't it..?._.) and I was really under strong impact of it! Great book! But still I can't stand when they're doing tests from it and something like that.. It's really harming for a good literature.
I can only thank that there is no Tolkien to read in Polish school xD

I did not like Dodtoyevsly at school. I don't think that it's that kind of litrature that 13 year olds can fully understand and appreciate. I'm going to reread Crime and Punishment in a couple of years. Though we didn't have any tests, but diffrent kinds of discussions and compositions And I can't even imagine what would happen if we have Tolkien in our school program. I was the only one in my school who read LotR

Poor you, with such a school!._. But it's very good that you broke the mould, someone have to! And I agree that it's not the book for 13s for example... In Poland we're reading it in higher school, in the 2nd class(people are 18 then) and I must confess with sadness that even then, many people can't understand its clue..:/

Anarielhime In reply to ViikingitValk [2011-04-07 23:17:26 +0000 UTC]

Russian school is a very stupid establishment indeed
But even if a person is 18, it doesn't give any garantee, that he or she would understand the message of the book. So I do now, as I used to do at school, read smth only when I feel like doing it.

Yap, I understand what you mean... Here in Poland we've also got hopeless satblishemnt if literature is meant :/ But what to do... Survive and read what somebody likes

his mood, character, obsession and pain are all well-discrbed.

andowa [2010-12-19 11:06:25 +0000 UTC]

it really would look good colored...
I would go for inking first... you don't even have to ink the original, take this copy of it instead, (print it if you have it only on the computer), ink it, scan it with different parameters so just the ink-lines are visible, and voilà!
now you can print it as many times you like and try out different colour-shemes or whatever you like

hmmm... he is just hairs is he? XD I would suggest that you try out some bands, pieces of cloth or whatever woven into the hair to give it a counterbalance. There you could draw some flowery details or symbols .. whatever takes your fancy

I hope this is helpful *grin*
