Description

This is my second revisited type chart for my fan-game Pokémon Sacred Phoenix.

Version from The Cave of Dragonflies:

Pokémon Sacred Phoenix includes two new types:

Shadow: Inspired by Pokémon Colosseum / XD, a Shadow Pokemon is a very aggresive and cursed creature who has the door to its heart sealed with hatred by the dark magic of Darkrai and Giratina. Next to the Dark type, the Shadow type is added as a second type (or replaces it). Its heart can be opened again only if the happiness of the Pokémon (initially at 0) reaches at least the neutrality. It must then be led to the altar of Celebi to concretize the purification.

Light: Opposed to the Shadow type and close to the Fairy type, a Pokémon can acquire the Light type (as a second type or in replacement of this one) when he has an unconditional love for his trainer and this link is dedicated in front of an altar of mostly legendary Pokémons. The blessing can be voluntarily canceled and it will be broken if the pokémon's happiness goes a little too far from the maximum.

The balance of power has been rebalanced to take into account the addition of non-neutral Light and Shadow types, but also raise the types that are strategically too weak since the 6th generation (and nerf those that are too strong).

Changes from the vanilla type chart include:

Electric type is now weak to Dragon type.

Ice type now resists to Grass type.

Ice type now resists to Bug type.

Ice type now resists to Water type. (Scald move remains neutral.)

Ice type is now immune to itself
Fighting type no longer resists to Bug type (from a resistance).

Psychic type now resists to Poison type.

Psychic type is now immune to Fairy type.

Bug type now resists to Psychic type.

Rock type now resists to Electric type.

Rock type now resists itself.

Ghost type now resists to Psychic type.

Steel type no longer resists to Dragon (from a resistance).

Steel type no longer resists to Ice (from a resistance).

Steel type is now weak to Electric.

Fairy type is now weak to Psychic.

Fairy type now resists itself.

Bonus :

Rock type is immune against Stealth Rock.

Bug type is immune against Sticky Web.

As the TCoD spreadsheet shows, about the 20 types:
- each type is vulnerable to a maximum of 5 other types (Grass and Rock are the worst, the others are at maximum 4)
- each type is effective on maximum 5 other types (Fighting and Ground are the best, the others are at maximum 4)

Compared to the first version, I removed the Rock vulnerability from Ice and reduced the Steel vulnerability from Dragon to neutral. Instead, it's Electricity that fears the Dragon, which adds a second weakness to this type. Ice is more boosted with a Water resistance and a neutral effectiveness against Steel.

The table is theoretically definitive, but I still do not exclude 1 or 2 last minute changes: balancing is a very delicate subject.
