...And because his eyebrows don't happen. Did that thing just get spontaneously created from the awesomeness of his jacket or what?

I used the manga for a reference, and in it, he has no eyebrows. They went bye-bye along with several layers of his forehead when that scar got created. And the egg was handed to him. He's actually holding it, but if he was holding it to where his hands are visible, the egg would've exploded from the bottom, and the Absol would've ended up on the floor.

I always assume that his eyebrows don't show up because they're white, but given he can still move his eyelids with that giant cicatrice going directly across them it's really more of a "shut up, this is anime" thing, yes?

I assumed they were burnt off and never grew back, myself. Or that the hair follicles were destroyed, meaning they couldn't grow back. And now that you bring up the eyelid thing, I'm actually amazed he's not blind or something.
