Description I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh, and I rush to the start

Coldplay - The Scientist

A very late tribute to Emily/LOOP16, the character of the Waking Titan ARG which ended in summer so I'm just half of an year late to the party. I didn't actually participate because I learned about it when it was already over so no guessing at number and figures for me. But even just reading it out was realy fun, reading the investigation on ETARC forum is like readind a book, like some kind of epistolary novel in forum threads. I would totally love a book like this.
The ARG is closely related to the game No Man's Sky and was created to promote it but the story is beautiful on its own right and has a beautiful bittersweet ending where an AI gave up her life to save a human child.

The drawing took me a WEEK to finish, and before that the sketch of this was collecting dust in my sketchbook for a really long time. I'm not sure if I like how it turned out or not because it doesn't really look how I imagined. It's also strongly visually inspired by Serial Experiments Lain credits themeΒ  It's beautiful and I love that song.

Also I want to make a glitch animation of this but haven't yet figured out how to do that.
Edit: glitch animation here fav.me/dcylhh1

This particular piece turned out beautifully. There's a sense of solemnity and finality to everything, particularly in Emily's pose and expression. The more muted color choices really add to the overall tone and the dangling, intertwining cables work as a fantastic, thematically appropriate frame.
