I love the textures in the background. Beautiful warm colours as well, and the way she looks down and how she holds her hands in front of her protectively...she does look vulnerable, yet I cannot see anything in this she needs to feel threatened by. Perhaps it's something on the inside...hmmm.
I like how she is outlined with those simple black lines.
There's something about the hairline that bothers me a little bit, I'd wish it to be a tad bit 'smoother', because it looks like a little...um..blob there on her forehead.
BUT, in all honesty, it's a lovely piece.

ooh - i am very intreagued by the background technique, and the paint over the paper, and use of diagrams as just another visual element ... nice
Also, the color, flame, and face of the woman is pretty cool - flows well. the hands are neat too, but my eye gets a bit snagged there because that point is so different from the rest. perhaps that was your intention tho, my eye gets snagged the way crab claws pinch? hehe. anyway, great image.
