A local Renaissance Fair is opening soon and I cannot wait!In the meantime, share some of my excitement, and have an imaginary line-up of various fair-goers.
...and dammit, guys, I worked really hard to come up with the douchiest t-shirt ever for Chad Thundercock over at the end, and I'm really proud of it. >>

the last guy's shirt XD what a douche, but you find them everywhere they think they can get laid. and all the different people, really nice. i once met a dude at a ren faire that had made his own set of metal armor, and it was sah-weetΒ looking. it wasn't a very big ren faire, though, and i haven't been to any others, so. but they did have a pregnant belly dancer? that was pretty interesting.Β

Great character sketches.Β You've got these visitors down to a "T". Of course there's alsoΒ belly-dancers with too much jingly-stuff hanging off their hips and the Jack Sparrow impersonators too.
It's been years since I've had the chance to go to the Renaissance Festival near my hometown. I've been away at college and I miss going. They always had fantastic turkey legs--yum!

Man, I haven't been to renfest in a few years, we used to go every year. We had a people bingo board made up for it. These are great, I love lineups showing different characters and you've got a nice gamut here. I like overheated (in my head) British knight.
Based on my experience you are missing: Person dressed as Link, Person dressed as vague Naruto character, Goth Hot Topic Fairy, Girl with giant shelf boobs/corset, Pirate dude, Viking/Wizard.
I don't know where I'd fit in. person dressed in normal clothes with friend in full garb?
Oh, and Corgi with fairy wings.

Haha, Naruto β so right! I agree, there's a couple of archetypes still missing. There will always be a Link, always someone from Arse Creed, and someone very large in a motorised wheelchair dressed as Arwen.

I've yet to see someone in a wheelchair, but it's pretty uneven terrain where they have ours. Oh, and people dressed as generic "Xena" esque ladies.
Renaissance = Ancient Greece/Hot Topic/Anime/Vikings, and now apparently the steampunk crowd is starting to attend.

We had a great ren fair here where I live not long ago. Here is a picture I posted from it of me and a couple of ladies dressed as dwarves. Great costumes.
