Description
I had this image in my head of walking alone in a desert full of abandoned cities and giant statues looking past you. As I was developing the piece I thought of a civilization that settled on the top of the mountains and built their cities there and proceeded to carve the mountains in the likeness of their god. And then they realized that such a drastic modification of the environment is a huge strain on resources and an overall bad idea, if they weren’t too busy with the unrest, corruption, infighting, fanatics, greed and all the other stuff that happen when a civilization is collapsing. In the end there was nothing else to do but abandon their cities. They left lone travelers wander at what it was.
