This is such a tranquil and beautiful painting. Love the way
you've the clouds reflecting on the tidal pool. And that background!
One can almost hear the sound of the waves as they break upon the shore.
She is the very essence of pure natural innocence.

You're most welcome!
I believe you've done an excellent job in depicting the sea.
I particularly like the way that you've portrayed the waves breaking
on the rock formations. Very realistic!

Are all these adult females painted? Does it vary from tribe to tribe?

Do these deer tribes like massages? Those are probably a low-tech way for them to feel good...

It also is a lot cleaner than mating for pleasure.

Thanks most kindly! This started off as a figure painting, but became much more about the background Glad you like the nude deer lady!

Thank you! The setting is based on a favorite beach I used to visit when I lived in California. Here's a pic of the rock in the background: 4.bp.blogspot.com/-5qBUm9UhmJU…
I looked at some pictures of Ru:gen -- It's really beautiful. Seems like a landscape out of Lord of the Rings!

it's just like you submerged into a fairy tale while walking through the open bright woods of beeches. the mix of dark brown tree trunks and branches the green leafs in front of the blue sky and sea who lay under these white cliffs is just an amazing scenery. Caspar David Freidrich painted this scenery also a few times and wonderfully captured the moments you just don't want to end.
I would so much love to live there, but not just because of nature you can also find in the stone beaches a lot of fossils.

ancient craftsmanship is awesome too, But to find such things I live in the wrong part of Germany (I'm in the north).
Where I live it's more common to find snails and mussels in limestone, Complete fossils are rare, but not unusual. In the southern regions like Bayern, it's more possible to find arrows and other smaller stuff.

I know in the USA ist possible to find ammonites in a lot of places, good states for finding bigger fossils and real dinosaur bones are for example Utah. I know there are a lot of dig sites.

Well, there are fossils to be found in this country, but I don't know where to look for them As you say, the western states are supposed to be good places for fossils. Also Pennsylvania.
I have heard that one can find fossils on the shore of the North Sea -- Is that right?

that is a rumor I sadly can't really confirm (because I was in my life only two times there and I was really small back then).
I know it's possible to find fossil shark teeth and new shark teeth but I never heard of bigger fossils.
