Meet Luster Dawn - the top student of Princess (or Queen) Twilight Sparkle and the final character to appear in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She is "Living proof that, no matter how much things may change... some things stay the same. And some begin all over again." And by that I mean, her role is very much like that of Twilight Sparkle back when she was Princess Celestia's student. Like Twilight, Luster is very studious and having the same dedication for researching magic. She has a very close relationship with her teacher Princess Twilight, having much respect for her and wanting to accomplish as much as she has. However, like Twilight Sparkle at the very start of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, she was more interested in studying than friendship, seeing the latter as a "distraction" for her.

In her first and final appearance, Luster approached her teacher and expressed that she had no interest in the school curriculum's focus on making friends, preferring instead to pursue independent study. Princess Twilight then told Luster the story of how after her coronation she built her "Council of Friendship" in order for her and her best friends to keep in touch and rule Equestria together. Luster changed her view that making friends is pointless after meeting the Mane Six and seeing how close they have stayed throughout the years. But even though she came to realize the importance of friendship, Luster was unsure how to start making friends herself. Fortunately, Princess Twilight sent her to Ponyville, where her own journey of friendship first began. She probably enrolled at the School of Friendship, where can continue to study and learn more about friendship. At the end of the episode, Luster Dawn departed from Twilight Sparkle and her friends to be with the new friends she made in Ponyville, including a Kirin, a Griffon, a yak, and another pony, just as the sunset set on this adventure.

I must admit Luster Dawn is an interesting character, and for her to play a similar role to Twilight back when she was Princess Celestia's studious yet asocial student. And her name is very fitting. I haven't decided if she is related to Starlight Glimmer and/or Sunburst; Jim Miller and Josh Haber's disagreement over the matter doesn't help much. But I'll decide at some point. Making her vector was somewhat easy, though the real challenge was the gradient fill in her mane and tail. Despite this, I do plan on making more vectors of Luster, only instead of screenshot references, the vectors will be based on Unicorn Twilight. If you don't get it, don't worry, it'll dawn on you.
