Twilight Sparkle's not the only one who's got wings now. Spike is officially a flying dragon!

Being a Dragon in a pony world has often made Spike feel out of place, especially since he was orphaned as an egg with his origin being a mystery. After being poked fun at by his friends for acting more like a pony than a Dragon, he began to question his identity and he decided to investigate his origin, traveling to the Dragonlands to find some answers. However, he soon finds out that even though he is a Dragon, he didn't and would never dream to act like the mean-spirited Garble and his bullying gang, who looked down on ponies and enjoyed terrorizing them. After being rescued by his pony pals, Spike realized it's not what he is that's important, but who he is that really matters. And it was this attribute of his that made Spike a hero to pony and non-pony alike. He even helped Princess Ember become the new Dragonlord, teaching her the value of friendship and teamwork. Soon, after Twilight opened up her School of Friendship to help everycreature learn about friendship, Spike made himself a new friend out of teenage dragoness, Smolder, who would help him in learning more about being a Dragon than he did from Garble. And she would be a big help to him when and after the biggest event of his life would arrive.

Spike began experiencing bizarre body changes like itchy, pimple-like blemishes, losing control of his fire breath, and emitting foul stenches. Smolder explained that Spike was a developmental stage for adolescent Dragons called the "molt"; she then added that the molting process typically causes dragons to be kicked out of their homes, which Spike worried is the case when Twilight told him to leave their Castle home to keep him from accidentally burning their belongings. Unfortunately, his new smell unwittingly attracted a Roc, a titanic raptor, that caught both Rarity and Zecora. While Twilight, who planned to see Zecora about a remedy for Spike's condition, tried to rescue them, Spike got encased in a stone-like cocoon. When it broke, he emerged like a butterfly — with a pair of dragon wings! This allowed him to fend the roc off and rescue his friends. Afterward, while Twilight, Rarity, and Zecora are overjoyed by Spike's new wings, he was saddened that he would still have to leave his home as part of the "molt effect." But Twilight assured Spike that she has no intention of getting rid of him, saying they don't have to abide by typical dragon customs. She explained that growing up will never change who Spike is inside, and whatever happens in the future, they will get through it together.

With his new wings, Spike can now travel with Twilight Sparkle whenever she's traveling on the wing, and to Rarity, he makes an even better fashion model than before. Even so, he still longs to know more about his origin. It was one day that a very obese and a very obnoxious male dragon named Sludge crash-landed in Ponyville. Spike took him back to the Castle of Friendship so he and the Mane Six could help him recover from his injuries. But then, Sludge revealed that he was Spike's father and had been trying to find him for years. As Spike and Sludge spent time together, Sludge persuaded Spike to give up his comfortable lifestyle in the Castle, while secretly plotting to move in and enjoy its luxuries for himself. Smolder, however, was unimpressed with Sludge's loafing and told Spike that dragons should not act that way. With her help, Spike managed to get Sludge to admit that he wasnot his father at all, and sent him packing. Although parentless again, Spike acknowledged Twilight as his family. Spike would also help other dragons celebrate their differences when he and Fluttershy helped Garble—who is also Smolder's brother—reveal to the other dragons his secret passion beat poetry in order to help the dragon eggs hatch. And once again, another enemy turned friend made friend to the end. Spike will always do good to everycreature, and with his new wings, he can now soar to new heights to spread friendship wherever he goes.

Besides Spike's heroics, the Mane Six continue to protect Equestria from threats while spreading the Magic of Friendship throughout their home and beyond, and when they opened up the School of Friendship, they could now teach it to everycreature from far and wide, despite the conservative objections of Chancellor Neighsay of the Equestrian Education Association. Though there were some who misued friendship itself as a means to power, and this one particular fiend is the psychopathic filly, Cozy Glow, who feigned being an innocent, charming pony to trick ponies into loving her and being her friend. When magic began to drain from Equestria, Cozy Glow suggested that Lord Tirek could be the threat. This, however, was a ruse to trick the Mane Six and Spike to go to Tartarus, and be trapped with him. Cozy Glow, meanwhile, used the school's magical artifacts to drain magic from Equestria, intent to rule it as the Empress of Friendship. Fortunately, the school's best students, the Young Six, exposed her for the fiend that she was and restored the magic. The Mane Six, Spike, the Princesses, a remorseful Neighsay, and the royal guards prevent Cozy Glow's escape and Twilight tried to explain to her that gaining power is not the purpose of friendship. With Cozy locked away and harmony, peace, and friendship spread throughout the realm, the Mane Six prove once again that no magic is greater than the Magic of Friendship.

Well, here's Spike with his new wings. I didn't want to use the same vector of him, so I made this one. It looks pretty good I think. There's more to come. Enjoy seeing our pony pals and their invincible friendship.
