Description

Long time coming: the battalion TO/E. The Andic army is comprised of a regimental structure with specialized battalions in it, and this is the first time I write down an entire battalion, after already doing companies here: www.deviantart.com/andorianus/…

A battalion consists of three infantry battalions. In addition, it has a heavy infantry battalion attached, consisting of two mechanized infantry platoons for quickly responding to changing battlefield situations - an air defence platoon with two SPAAG's and a search radar carrier, all three of which double as direct fire support - a tank destroyer direct fire platoon consisting of 4 light tanks - and a mortar platoon with 4 mortar carriers.

The battalion also comes with its own support unit with integral ambulance, military police, mess, maintenence, signals, and supply units, as well as an assault pioneers platoon with equipment for demolition, river crossing, mine removal and more. The staff platoon of the support company additionally has an NBC decontamination unit attached.

I laid out the entire battalion staff unit plus roles on this sheet too. The battalion HQ consists of a "field" element and an "administrative" element, which is why half of the people on here are not equipped with their own transportation.

Note: the sheet as given here is typical of the *field* formation of a battalion like this. For elements like the NBC units, it may be prudent to at times bundle these units up together with a larger regimental level-or-higher NBC unit. I've debated this, but found using a graph like this provides a clearer overview. If I ever get to drawing an entire regiment - big if - I might reconsider this.

Please do give me advice if you have any. A lot of research was involved in this but I am not actually a military person outside of this hobby, so do give me pointers on what I can still improve.
