Description Once again old stuff. There is a long story about this pic and a lot of funny comments. Some people thought it was a pink desert (damn my monitor!), others were joking about ship...

Anyway, this was my first experience with a tablet. Ship was modelled in 3ds Max by me and then integrated into the painted scene in Photoshop.

Crappy.

Reminds me of that trading ship that got shot up during one of the videos in the Garden of Kadesh in homeworld (between the cathedral and the sea of lost souls I think)

I am a big fan of all your work to date, keep it up!

Are there any tips you'd offer a person just starting out with 3ds Max or Maya?

Cheers,

oooh i quite like the design of the ship, is it a full model or only a partial for this shot specifically?

the image itsef is very reminesant of sci-fi novel coverart, quality for sure.

Andr-Sar In reply to failurecrusade [2006-06-05 08:52:51 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. There is a long story once again with that spacecraft. Through the long turn of cases I came up with the poor partial model and without any ideas. Eventually I was watching I-Net-GrafX works and the simple idea with snow mood was born then...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

failurecrusade In reply to Andr-Sar [2006-06-05 22:35:14 +0000 UTC]

with a still shot like this all you really need is a partial model anyway, beautiful concept for a ship and a great scene.

as it is part of a story, seeing other iterations of the ship in different storyline scene's would no be something anyone could complain about

xP The front of the ship looks kinda awkward, but the back is amazing. >.< It's beautiful. xD I get kinda the same feeling when looking back at my old work, too, though. xDD The pieces I adored, I hate. xDD I think it's better to see the bad in it, though, because then you improve immensely with every piece.
Great job!

WOOW Everytime you surprise me even more. This is one of the best Ive ever seen. It reminds me of Dunes and the pinkish ground is cool. If it was yellow it was too similar to the earth and the it matchs the bluish color of the ship

The snow is a bit pink, but not crappy at all. Sometimes modesty is rather unbecoming.
Nice work, keep it up.

Andr-Sar In reply to Phantasist [2006-05-17 18:03:22 +0000 UTC]

Well, sometimes modesty is a part of irony, or, in other words, too complex feeling when the sadness and happiness face each other. And I don't like my works because almost every time I've got unsatisfied results, not what I really wanted to do. Moreover, I position myself in some cases as one unsatisfied universe experience. Maybe that is a overall point from what life begins, the proof of the universe motion.

Anyway, thank you for watching.
