Description Once again I'd like to thank all my viewers and watchers, you guys rule! To clarify a few things I get asked a lot:
1) Yes, I use [link] 's brushes
2) I use Photoshop CS at home and CS3 here in school (don't ask why, but of course CS3 is better)
3) I can't stress enough how much I hate not being able to answer all of you but.. aah you know I love you guys anyway
4) I study 3D, but I am a concept/2d artist.
5) Since I'm a pretty busy guy (aren't we all?) I don't have time to contribue to any gaming projects or whatnot, eventhough I'd really like too believe me!

That being said, here's another real quick one made in school. But hey, I promise I'm gonna do a more solid piece soon!

Peace out!

that lovely moment in any war film where the two vanguards of each army collide nice work dude

Und3rw0rld [2008-05-19 22:03:47 +0000 UTC]

What I like about it and why:

-The composition: Other than the spear on the foreground, we get the idea that the whole army gets attacked by one horse and that gives great power to the horse itself.
-The war horse: Exquisite and very Andree-like. I am sure you enjoyed drawing it.
-The amazing way you mixed the background foliage with the spears, the army, the battle SOUNDS and I don't know what else you put in there!! Looks marvelous.

What I think could be better about it and why:
-The shields: They look kind of poor to me and made more like of concrete than metal or wood. Maybe the lack of detail was intentional on your part, the overall noise is a bit too much, but still I miss something there.
- The faces of the front line warriors: I understand speed and lack of detail on certain parts because of it but I think the way you simplified them is unfair. A bit more precision and they would look close to perfect, after all they have to face the HORSE!

An overall well done, thanks for sharing and thanks for replying to the comments when you can.

thanks for this very constructive critique dude, glad you liked it. The shields and the humans was a couple of things I considered spending more time on, but since time was an issue I decided to skip it and let the composition do all the "talking", but I totally agree with you.

I'm afraid to say I haven't often got the time to comment on many of your works - I'm more of a look, appreciate and leave sorta person nowadays that I'm busy most of the time.

First of all, thanks for the link to the brushes. I will surely play around with them.
Two, I love the motion and expression in ALL of your paintings. Your shapes aren't always so defined but they still leave the impression which is a hard skill to master IMO.
Thirdly, and finally I'm constantly ASTOUNDED at the speed at which you paint!

As always, another amazing piece.

Also, it's really awesome to see an artist who really gets a lot from the communty's feedback. All too often I see people ignoring their admirers and avoiding questions. While I recognise it's impossible to devote time to every enquiry - we're all here to learn and observe! Every little helps I guess.

Thanks for your contribution to the community.

Oh and a well deserved favourite - for the image and the message!

This piece reminds me of the Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian movie that I went and saw last night.. it was pretty good, but at this point, one army held up their shields, and the centaurs came crashing into their shields.. was pretty cool.

Faved, as usual.

I love you're work. You update more than anyone I watch, so when I log in and see "1 Deviation" I automatically think "Woo! AndreeW has something new." I like the fact that I can always expect to be surprised by what you do since you're so eclectic in your choices.

Also, you certainly don't owe me a comment, sharing your beautiful artwork is enough for me. Thank you.

"Look, Look, do you like it?!"
"Yes."
"What do you like about it specifically?!"
"I don't know."
"Pick something or I'll blow your brains out!"
"I like... how it looks like an owl."
"Thank you for the compliment!"
