Grew up in the late 60s early 70s with SGT Rock. Attribute my fascination with history to this character. Big fan of the Haunted Tank as well. You've captured the old solder very nicely. Strong work. Thanks for the memory jog.

would you say that the some of the skill you have today is down to what you learnt in illustration?...sorry if these questions are annoying

well i feel like i'm a constant student. i also learned a great deal after college from every studio i visited and every artist i hung out with. and i know a lot of pros who have no formal training and they are some of the best in the business. between the internet and your local library and bookstores you can learn most anything.

I love this sketchy look. You have the right amount of detail where there needs to be.
Awesome.

Absolutely. You captured that feel wonderfully here. I would love to see more Rock and Kubert inspired stuff. You have the knack for it.

Mind blowing pencils! I'd love to see Sean Murphy inks over your pencil-work.

Great work--the graphite gives it a really good gritty feel to it.

yeah he was the man. lots of raw emotion in his drawings and ink work. you could smell the gun powder and burnt dead bodies and really hear and feel that primal scream.
