As tell by the date I've been meaning to upload this for a while.Video: [link]
This only began as a doodle because I saw some new footage of Chemical Plant Zone for Sonic Generations. However I thought it would be interesting to add a background; since originally I was going to just have the pink water and a simple grey background, since I hate doing backdrops.
But I started to sketch it out and I'm now happy I tried doing a background, since this looks so much better then what I planned!

First off, love the colour palette in this! I know it's that of the Chemical Plant zone, but the way you've faded the yellow-olive colour in the background really adds depth to the environment. The bubbles and tubes in the pic looked like a lot of fun to sketch out too. I'm happy you slipped in a backdrop for this! 
I think my small critique to this picture would be the block. The perspective of the block looks a little bizarre, and I don't think it works for the angle you've drawn this at. I don't know how to explain it without red-lining it, but hopefully by pointing it out you might understand what I mean.
Overall, it's a cute and great picture of Sonic. Can't wait to try out Sonic Generations!

As a kid that level in sonic 2 kicked my ass near the end so many times >.< curse you moving platforms and slowly increasing water.

hah also every time I did beat it I could never get past the next stage now that I play it older and wiser Ive gotten to like the 5th stage so far.
