I've had a bunch of fond memories about some adaptions of the Wind in the Willows when I was younger. I've been one stage play of it, played a PC game version of it and watched a film of it. Right now I am reading it on my e-Reader.

Absolutely superb. I love Ratty with the pipe! He definitely channels Sherlock Holmes in the Wild Wood when they find Badger's door.

Isn't it such a wonderfully charming story. though? Awesome.

There were sequels to "Wind in the Willows" , In one, old Badger DIES and goes to heaven. The other animals have a grief gathering to sit & ponder what he meant to them and how he enriched their lives. (Just typing this in, gave me a crying fit. I've had such whenever strong emotion hits me, ever since my mother died...)

Can you cast light on this ? Wikipedia let me down.

Artist's Note: After I did this illustration many years ago, I went back and read the book again, only to find out that Rat's boat is actually supposed to be blue. I made the correction, but that version is only available as a limited edition print.

Hehehe, I loved the Disney movie when I watched it, it's a shame I can hardly find it in libraries when I'm in the mood to read This is a really lovely enactment of a scene from the charming book, they look ready to visit the little animal city just before Toad wrecks it

This is very beautifully done . I really like how you did the background, the softness of the lineart and colors contrast to the foreground which gives a somewhat foggy and ominous feel. I also really like the colors, they are very earthy and lowly as to portray the woodland creatures appropriately. Props to you, this is a very beautiful piece!
