Description I put this in portraits, but I don't know if it is - it does say a lot about the person though!

says so much but, specific situation remains mysterious
could it be that the injured arm was obliterated in some type of accident and because the strength of the model and self determination -- nothing hinders or causes her to hide.
or possibly--is it some allegorical expression of a life , lived in beauty and also mutilating horror...but a life lived, no less, no more.

i love that it makes viewer consider....

I see a lot of scars, and if this is self-injury, then I can relate. I like the film look this has. And it's a strong portrait because of how it expresses the person. The arms are directly in the middle, slicing the frame in half. The person seems to be grabbing onto a stuffed animal I think? That could show innocence - reaching for something from the past. Maybe childhood was much better, and the person wants it back. We can see his/her pain through the scars, and it just looks like the person is searching for something more. Great shot.
