Looks more like uniform now actually. Gives me modern non-DC Captain Marvel flashbacks.

This one's even better than your original concept! Great lines and strong colours. Great work!

I love this modification too. The thigh high boots are a good fit for the color distribution, and the modified chest panel keeps her classic look without being too provocative.

Rawr. This looks MUCH BETTER than what they've come up with for her.

I kinda want to see DC's new style guide, I'll bet it says "Put seem lines on everything!" Which isn't necessarily bad... I'm just wary that it'll become what pouches were in the '90s.
That being said, this is a more refined version of your original concept. At the risk of sounding perverse, spreading her legs in this makes her look more strong and commanding in keeping with her classic character rather than your previous pose which was more carefree and "leaf of the wind".
Exposing her skin in this kind of pose suggests that she's not afraid of injury, though it seems odd to me that only her thighs are bare. Maybe balance it out with bare biceps/ short sleeves. I dunno, I'm just spitballing here.
Good job!

Haha, well I think it's a step up from pouches. All clothes need seams but not all clothes need pouches! (I'm starting to notice just modern fashion in general incorperating seam lines and using them to seperate different materials, etc) I do like to change up poses and capture different sides and attitudes of a character. You're spot on on what I was going for in both poses.
I have experimented with different ways of exposed skin, sleeves, pants, body, etc and I found I liked this one the best, which is in keeping with the original costume exposing the same body parts.
Thanks for commenting!

Love it!
How can anyone complain about this being sexist? She's 80% covered up, and from her expression, she looks like the "Bite Me!" PeeGee we've all come to love. Actually, she looks like she's about to give DC an "attitude adjustment".
I think they started the personality change while Karen Starr was involved with "Mr Terrific", she was timid, sensitive when she was criticized at a party, and all of a sudden she's not flying out in the open...what the hell? You would almost think some villain had worked a magical mojo on her.
I haven't seen the new "Worlds Finest" yet but I did see the last issue of the Huntress series in which she appeared, in civvies and flew Huntress out of danger. Are they trying to turn her into a mousy little blonde, if so, that sure ain't feminist, and it will piss off female fans of PeeGee's strong, aggressive former character.

Thanks! Wow, I haven't been reading much of the New DC 52 (just Batman) but it sounds like I'm not missing much. I'm gonna pull out my Amanda Conner Powergirl run now!

Hm, I find it vaguely interesting though I do like the art in Mr.Terrific, too bad I heard it was one of the worst comics coming out of the New 52.

Go ahead and kick me, I just ordered the entire Mr Terrific DC 52 run of 1-8 on eBay. I'm a sucker for any Powergirl/Karen Starr, no matter how little of her is in the books. As you know, she makes a brief appearance in #1, and I read where she makes another brief appearance in #7
Went to my comics store today hoping to pick up a copy of the new World's Finest but they were closed due to a family problem, so will try again tomorrow or Wednesday
I also ordered on eBay some back issues of Supergirl Vol. 5 #6 where Supergirl and Powergirl assume the identities of Flamebird and Nightwing in Kandor to battle Ultraman posing as Kal-El Superman. Here's a reference to it from Wikipedia: [link]
Here's some nifty Nightwing artwork I've found here on dA:

This guy has some gorgeous Powergirl art! His name is Jim Balent, check him out.
Two great renders of Powergirl as Nightwing,

I still prefer her costume from before the reboot, but this is certainly better than the current garbage they have her wearing now. Good job.
