"They're back."

Of course Shadow knew just what the Command Caste leader was referring to.

The League had long sought control of the small sphere for years since their arrival. The Infiltrator Caste could easily have handed control of the various governments over to him right on the first day of the arrival but the protectors, who could not be infiltrated, foiled all their attempts to take control. Years passed and just as they were about to give up and leave the four prime titans: Wonder Amazon, Superwoman, Femme Hulk and Power Fatale, mysteriously left.

That was five years ago and control of the sphere was easily acheived after that, the lesser protectors remaining were no problem. Of course the return of the primes was always expected and the Imagine Caste had the task to prepare an adequate offense in those years.

Now the time had come and the nullifier field was all they had. If if worked they kept control and if not... well, it had been a fun five years...

Diana walked into the invaders sanctum, feeling the shame of her current attire - a sexualized parody of her own Amazon battle armor. But this was the only way to get close to the creatures that had already defeated and imprisoned every other member of the Justice League - even Superman.

"The invaders take humans for experimentation," her friend Etta had told her in the resistance headquarters. "They choose what they call physically perfect specimens and take them to perform...tests." The Air Force captain paled. "Most are never seen again. The ones that are...Diana, these creatures are either sadistic, or totally without human feelings, or both. Are you sure this is the only way."

"The only way," Diana had told Etta, looking at her reflection in the mirror. Her hair was cut short, and and with most of her armor replaced with the costumed fakery even she was finding it hard to believe that the person staring back at her from the mirror was the real Wonder Woman. "You say that the creatures take females and males seperately?"

Etta nodded. "They seem particularly interested in human women. Especially the beautiful ones. Some women have volunteered to go with them - rather than survive in the what they've left of civilization."

"And now another will," Diana had responded. She slipped her actual arm bands and tiara on, and hooked her real lasso to her belt. "By the time they realize they don't have a fake Wonder Woman but the real one in their midst, I will have freed the other League members. Then we'll see how well THEY do taken by surprise."

"Just be careflul," Etta had said. "And find Steve, while you're in there."

Diana strode through the hall towards the selection chamber the human guards had spoken of. The men outside had sold their loyalty to the invaders for the promise of food and shelter, and it had taken all the Amazon's restraint not to smite them as they oggled her. "Maybe once the masters have finished with this one they'll let us have a taste," one had said. "If only it was the real Wonder Woman," another had replied. "I'd give a lot to see what the masters have in store for her when she's finally caught."

Diana took a steadying breath and entered the shadowed chamber at the end of the hall. As she did, a beam of light from above illuminated her. She sensed movement in the shadows, but did not act yet. She dared not give away her true identity until she was sure where Superman, Flash, and the others were being held. She had to bide her time, not matter what it might cost her. She moved forward to the center of the room, putting the sway in her hips that Etta had coached her on. The light followed her, stopping when she did.

"So, another female joins us willingly," a cold, gravelly voice said. "And an outstanding one at that."

"We shall see," another cold voice responded. Diana fought her natural warrior instincts and forced herself to look fearful as the shadowy shapes around the room moved closer.
