I prefer this one for sure. I mean in gerneral IΒ΄m a fan of monochrome photogrpahy...
Besides this, this black and white version is much better than your coloured one

The comp is awesome, think the colour may have a tiny bit more detail...but I do love a good B&w

I prefer this one to the color one. The reason being the fact that it leaves a lot to the imagination. The viewer can use their imagination to determine what color the lights are. Therefore, it can become any number of pictures.

Kudos

I prefer this version (the black&white) to the other, although both are excellent. It may be down to the lack of border here - any chance of seeing the colour version borderless? I think this shot is better without one, it makes it more immersive. (:

AndrewToPhotography In reply to adamlack [2009-09-11 17:47:23 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Cerique You're right about the border. I will remove the border and update.

ItΒ΄s hard to say, I like them both. But I think I prefer this one. The black/white is tougher.

Thanks I think so too. The colour one is a bit too soft.

I can't believe i actually both and had a good look flipping back and forth for a couple of minutes
Definitely has got to be this as i thought it had more contrast and looked so surreal! the string of UFO's above the buildings. Sure looks futuristic this one

Both are awesome, couldn't really say one is more prefered...... the b/w puts better focus on the texture and lighting of the buildings but the coloured version is so pretty. I don't know.

I prefer the B-W version more than the coloured one because it gives me more the classic style feeling which I like.

It's remains a great shot, but I do like the colored version more. Maybe it's because I've seen the skyline many times, but the colored version looks more appealing to me

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AndrewToPhotography In reply to Chopen [2009-09-10 20:59:00 +0000 UTC]

Thanks mate Yeah others have said that too. I guess with a shot that oozes striking colours, then it should remain in colour.

Chopen In reply to AndrewToPhotography [2009-09-10 21:01:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, although a lot of other HK photos can be done in BW though...like those skyscrapers (from up close) and small (dirty) alleyways and such
