The amount of detail is impressive (especially for watercolour ^^), and I love how much contrast there is...
Do you have pictures of the painting process, by the way? I'd love to see how you reach such a result!

Thanks a lot! I don't have pictures of the process but I plan to make some when I paint the next watercolor. My technique is quite simple- I do many layers of paint, starting from light to dark colors, no white paint is used, just the white of the paper.

That is very beautiful.Β If you don't mind a question; do you scan a painting that large or photograph it?Β

Thank you very much! I photograph all my paintings, but Β I don't have a professional camera so the photos are not very good. Lots of details and colors are lost.

Thanks.Β It looks great, but I imagine it looks even better when looking at the original.Β I have the same problems with my larger paintings.Β I think they look decent on the eisle, but the photograph loses a lot.
By the way, thank you for mentioning Eric Christiansen.Β I'd never heard of him, so looked him up.Β His watercolors are amazing.Β Β Β Β Β
Anyway, thank you for sharing!

May I ask how long something like this would take ? I couldn't do this if my life depended on it

It took me about 6-7 days, but it is relative. It depends of how experienced with the material the artist is. If you haven't practice a lot with watercolour, you should not hurry but take some basic lessons, study the material and with time, painting process will become easier. It is not only for watercolour of course but for any painting(drawing) media. Β
