Been ages since I posted anything. I had gotten Steam a long time ago and it's really expanded my gaming library. VVVVVV is one of my new favorites. Hard, but forgiving (a little too forgiving if you're aiming for the "Prize for the Reckless" trinket. Those who struggled over it know exactly what I mean.
). All the little pixel people are stick figures though, so I wanted to see if I could translate them into not-stick-figure people since each had a distinct personality. Worked out okay for some, not so well for others.Cyan - Captain Viridian (that's you!)
Red - Officer Vermillion
Yellow - Professor Vitellary
Magenta - Dr. Violet
Green - Chief Verdigris (whose unfortunate outfit was my attempt at making diverse naval uniforms but ended up looking like a security guard or a postal worker. What does a naval engineer look like?)
Blue - Dr. Victoria

Okay, I know this was posted seven years ago, but I have to say that I love this
I'm actually going as Victoria for Halloween..or at least, I'm going to try to. It's difficult to dress up as a tiny 1-bit character, but this definitely helps!
I attempted to draw her, too, but I can't draw humans so it didn't turn out too good.

This is great in part because it's well drawn and depicts the characters very well and also because it makes me want to hug Victoria more, like I do while playing the game.

ITS EEEVIIIL......hatred of trinkets aside....This art is amazing...glad to see someone make some more humanistic from of the crew. and their situations giving their characters, Vermillion being the adventerous bad ass he can be. and so on. good job

Well, it looks awesome. I'm only a bit into the game myself. I recently rescued Vermillion.
I like the way you gave everyone a unique appearance based on the way they act in-game. It's challenging to draw them with details when they look so simple. Though, it also leaves room for creativity!
It looks like you drew the crew in the areas where you find them, neat!

The best characterization I've found on DA in my opinion. They are all look pretty good. I agree with the security guard look though.
And Verdigris looks like he's running away from something chasing him. I think it would've been better if he was standing still while poking his hand through the invisible-loop-wall-thing. Anyway, this art still looks lovely ^^

I think it would look better if he stands straight, poking one hand through the wall. A running pose won't do the trick, because running is not something engineer-like. And I don't think you need a hat there. But I'm not an artist or something of course ^^

Oh, and one more thing. I'm participating to a Fantasy Role Playing event as a GM, and decided on directing a play about VVVVVV. Can I show this picture to my players? It is the best artwork I've seen so far.

Oh, the outfit. Well, Verdigris is an engineer, so I'd advise a worker overall as clothing. And there is a hat model named "Engineer Hat" Check them out and see if those would suit the Verdigris of your mind ^^

I really like this. Probably the best attempt I've found on DA of anyone attempting to put actual designs to each character. I think Verdigris looks fine, the medals save the outfit from looking entirely like what you feared (though it also adds a bit of humor to his pose and expression). XD
