I knew he had an old heirloom, i.e. the chipped teacup, which had extreme sentimental value to him. Some others might not see how special it is, but that doesn't matter; it's special to him. When I found out he had an actual doll like my Helen, the Goodnight Moon bunny I've slept with every night since I was 5 and my 'valuable heirloom', my heart clenched. I thought the doll was Bae's when Felix first showed it to him.

I thought that it was Bae's at first too. But then I wondered why it would throw him like that. I mean, I think he'd had his Bae issues sorted at the moment so he would have just looked really sad or angry if it had belonged to Bae, so I figured this was for a different connection that wasn't front in his mind at moment.

Keep in mind, he thought Bae was dead, and he had left on a rather sour note. I was agreeing that Rumpel should never come near his son, nor Henry, ever again if he was planning on killing him. He never even got to say good bye. I could see the sadness, but not anger, so I thought it was Bae's doll at first. When I heard it was his... oh man! Heart strings!

I'm not saying that the issue of Bae wasn't a very sore spot for him. But it didn't really make sense to me that seeing a doll of Bae's would make him break down into tears. I mean, maybe, but... eh. I think he was done crying about his failer of Bae because he thought he was dead and he'd built up his resolve to do the only thing left for him to do to semi make up for it.

He was bringing Henry back, and was going to die doing it, in tribute to his son. I thought the doll brought back painful memories of Bae and how he abandoned him, and has regretted it ever since. When he found out Bae was alive, that threw a shock to his system.
