Description Some new wands I have made over the last few days. I am getting ready for a show in mid Nov. I love making these! I find all of the wood at the creeks, rivers, and lakes we visit and explore around Arizona and Utah. I set genuine gemstones into the wood and tips of the wands, and burn designs as well. Not only do I enjoy choosing out the crystals and stones for each one, but I love burning the designs because of the "wood" smell it makes! Yum! One of my favorite smells!

You can purchase these wands from my website: www.beadworx.com/FaeryFinds.ht…

I love especially that you made these from found driftwood! Excellent idea. I readily think 'faeries' when I see these wands. Excellent work!

You're welcome.Β

I'm working on a hollowed-out branch jewelry box. I haven't taken any pics yet w my camera, (just my phone to show a friend) but I'll shoot some before I stain and set stones in it. I'm not sure what to add stone-wise, but I was thinking a nice piece of turquoise is always popular. I've already carved the inside compartments, I just need to do some more sanding and finishing, plus the stones if/when I set some. I'd like it to be finished before I do a show in December, so someone can get this as a Christmas present.

Wow, I can't wait to see it! It sounds like it will be gorgeous! Turquoise is always nice, one of my favorites!

Awwww these are outstanding!!! All the small gemstone-iinlays...so beautifull! The one on the right side is so special - with the third crystal in the branchhole

Thank you so much Ganjamira! I really appreciate that! The one on the right was my husband's favorite for the same reason, the double terminated quartz point goes all the way through the wood to both sides Glad you like it!

Gorgeous! Just curious.. how do you set the stones into the wood? Do you cut a seat and then glue them in?

Thank you Aryiea! Depending on the size of the stone or crystal, I drill, cut and even burn holes to fit the stone, then glue them in for extra security.

Ah I see I am a metalworker, so I'm used to using a bezel and couldn't figure out how you did this xD This is an interesting technique, though!

No problem Aryiea, I work in metals/bezels too, so this was a fun twist on it!
