indeed, it can be unhelpful instead of helpful if people bring it so harshly in my opinion XD but it is indeed scary to get critique on something you've made. I remember how intimidating my art teacher could be, she had a high standard and often critiqued the work of students, but more in a way to help them improve their work. I learned quite a bit during her lessons, though some of her critique was unclear or even annoying at times XD

It can sometimes be just that someone knows how to draw, but don't know how to teach, which is an entirely different skill all in itself.Β
I think the difference is that harsh critique is when someone is harsh, but still raises valid points, and bashing is just "OMG THIS SUCKS!!!one!one!!" with nothing constructive to say.
Yeah, that's the hardest part, unfortunately. I was actually even worse, I used to feel that critiques were like an insult to me personally, not just the drawing I did.
Thankfully, since I started doing that "try things first, get offended later" thing I mentioned before, I'm way better at controlling myself.
I agree with that too! My dad does this with pointy ears, he's always like "They look so ugly! Why do you keep doing them?", but he never mentions if I'm doing them right or not, he just doesn't like them, so yeah, personal preference. Β
Yeah, that seems to be kinda rare on dA. D: But so are people that actually give out meaningful critique.

yeah I think it is good to be someone that stands still and thinks about stuff, but sometimes my mind goes overboard XD
indeed, stubborn-ness seems to be a general thing that keeps coming back on interactions on the web, for some reason when certain people get behind their computer they get this extreme attitude of always being right and no logic in the world will change it.Β
it indeed can be, though I think that critisism is a more general thing to get right, but views on art can get really deep and philosophical O.o

euh sometimes :gigle:
yeah me too, I think that how I am online matches how I am in real life (though I probably wont use some complex words XD) I guess it is the safethy of being behind your pc, and not having that "direct feedback" when you say something meanΒ Β
oh yeah I can relate ! XD

This is why we should do an art trade when my commissions are finished.
So I can make your dreams come true in 3D and you can make my dreams
come true in digital drawing! What do you think?
