Description No batteries required.

Still iffy on this one. I have a few alternates: less contrast with everything in better exposure, no person in back, wall instead of windows, different tones....

I dunno. Most pertinent is if the person in the back and the bright windows are a detraction or not.

I'll upload a couple others later I guess.

PSCS2 RAW processed with highlights dodged to achieve faux-glow in the bulb.

I actually think the person in the background adds more mystery to this photo.. and i'm not distracted by the windows.. because i'm more distracted by the fact that the light bulb is lit up with no power supply!

tis brill!, and I really like the green hue it has

I love the way the light is lit but not connected! Also the people in the bg are interesting to me, because it's like the picture means something about them -- like they need to "light their light" or something. I dunno. Sweet pic tho, I love it.

The background elements don't detract from the bulb at all. You've done a great job of isolating it and making sure that the viewer's attention is directed soley at it during a first glance. The background elements do nothing but add to the overall atmosphere you've created. Nice job!

i love the greenish tint you have on this photo! i agree with a few others above about the people being distracting... which could be a good or bad thing depending on what you want for this photo. However, I keep asking myself, "What are the people doing there? What is the artists intent when he/she put those people there?" I guess that's the only reason why those people bother me -- i don't think you had "planned" for them to be there =/

the person is distracting, but is that a bad thing? Do you really want to have people look at a lightbulb in front of a black wall? Isn't it the weird surroundings that get you to wonder why on earth there'd be a lightbulb right there, I think you did a good job but if you keep doubting you could try to use them as a wallpaper, just get used to them in a non confronting way and decide later, or not, depending on wether or not you want the rush of the moment to decide for you.

Andross01 In reply to Paanhaas [2006-03-04 23:47:52 +0000 UTC]

Well, the other shots I have w/o the person is this exact thing and I also have it in front of a wall, but it isn't completely black, in addition to a shot which is just the lightbulb and the surrounding floor. I'm in no rush to complete these edits or anything. I like to take my time to get it right. Thanks for your comment

This brought me a good ten minutes of amusment. Very nice indeed. Personally, I think it would be nicer without the person(s) in the back. Still quite nice, though.

Well, maybe in a few days time I'll go ahead and edit the other ones fully and whatnot, as I do have this exact scene w/o the person. Thanks for the input

I actually think the people in the background make such an.. Intriguing scene seem more common place. (Which is in it's self surreal) Further still, the light from the windows adds delightful color to the bulb itself. Lovely.

One of the reasons I kept this shot was b/c I personally liked the person as well. However, some may think differently and prefer just one focal point.
Again, thanks
