oh... i see what they are talking about when it comes to image softness at 1.8 at this lens. still good shot tho... how is ur experience overall with that lens?

I like it well enough, but it has gotten less use as I now have a D700 (I use a Siggy 28 1.8 more often, and a 20-35 2.8 Nikkor when I want to go wider). I would either way recommend it for its speed and close focusing capabilities.

well. i am looking to get either Sigma 20mm 1.8 or Sigma 10-20mm 4.0-5.6... I am leaning towards second one right now as I see myself doing more landscapes in the next few months and while the 20mm 1.8 can be used for that as well, I feel I will get more use out of wider zoom lens. what do you think? do you(did you) shoot more models or environments with it?

I used it more so for portraits or using it to contrast small foreground objects against a larger background. I'd go with the 10-20 for landscape though.

having that said, i think that 20mm lens would be a great benefit for indoor/no flash photography.
