Description It is a shame I couldn't come up with a better name for this pic. But, creating things and naming them are two different things.

I like this picture a lot. I can't say enough how proud I am after finally finishing it. Originally, it was suppose to look different, but after placing the dragon and cliff on the paper, I realized I took up to much space and decided to just go along with it rather than attempt to redraw the dragon.

This is my Fourth full scale colored pencil drawing that I have done and it is amazing what one can learn by doing just one pic. On my last one, Just Me and My Dragon, I received some criticism on how I went about presenting the clouds. This go around, I spent much more time studying clouds and their structure (well, what little structure they actually have ) and took more time on the clouds and my color choices for them. A new tool I have also put to good use is a blending stump. Though I don't have easy access to a blending pencil, I will say the blending stump is much more efficient than my finger or a napkin.

Overall, this took about three weeks, mostly because I had tests and other conflicts that interfered with my work time. In hours, I'd say this took about nine or ten. I worked real slowly to make sure I knew what I was doing and that I was doing precisely what I wanted to do. Another issue I faces was my ADD. I haven't actually been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, but I found it incredibly hard to focus on my work for more than an hour at a time and usually got up and did something else the rest of the day.

I plan on entering this in a school wide art show where ribbons are given for exceptional work in each category. Wish me luck and please comment if you have any constructive criticism! Let me know how I can improve!!!

P.S.

Please excuse my horrible picture taking skills! I did this in my sketch book and was unable to get an adequate scan of it. I tired my best to come up with an image that included the whole picture with as little else as possible and this is what resulted.

Awesome details on the clouds and the rocks It's a shame the picture quality isn't so good though

thanks. I am working on getting a new and better pic out. I had scanned it in at school, but then lost my flash drive with everything on it so at the moment, i am sort of stuck. I'll try to get out asap.

I have been getting a lot of crap lately about the poor picture quality. This was the best i could do with my sucky camera. Right now, it is in a school art show, but i may consider scanning it in and re-submitting it. The clouds and rocks took me forever; probably the reason this took so many hours was just figuring out how to do them in the first place

Thanks

Hey, it's fine but I've learned that you get the best results of using a camera for drawings is doing that in sunlight and holding the camera as still as possible. Also, you can always edit the picture a bit.

Thanks for your nice comment. The problem is i only have paint to work with on my current computer...which stinks real bad. It can only make rectangular selections But I am still satisfied with the end result.
