Thanks So Much
That Was One Of My First Flight Shots
I Was Very Pleased With It And I Don't Think
I Have Bettered It Yet In Terms Of Clarity And Sharpness
But I Do Tend To Prefer Shots That Convey A Little More Motion
If At All Possible.

You are welcome... mine tend to have too much motion and I have an empty screen [when it comes to birds... even as a novice hunter out with my dad, I couldn't hit anything in the air; I'm not much better with the camera... when I try to find and focus on the bird it is already too late]. Some things never change!!!

Your Not Alone I Get Quite A Few Empty
Frame Shots As Well. You Just Need To Take More And More
Eventua; You Will Get Some In Frame Shots.

Great capture. The sharpness is excellent, as is the composition - I like the way that the twigs fill part of the frame but don't distract from the main focus.

I Can't Make My Mind Up
This One Is A Little Static
The Other Gives More Sense Of Movement ?

barcon53 In reply to andy-j-s [2008-11-08 18:05:05 +0000 UTC]

I think though you didn't have actual wing movement captured, there is still a strong sense of motion. Probably due to the position of the wings, which is wonderful, and the body posture. I think the background helps because of the expanse of sky with just a few branches far away. You have captured the strong slow downbeat of a glide beginning, at least that's how it feels to me.

There's nothing wrong with that one for sure godda smile becaurse im in the proces of doing that to myself. with the new camera im cross checking everything new against old shots. im forever convinced i got better shots with the D1X or the D2Xs.

I wove a yarn many years ago, about Long Leg the Heron & Blue Streak the Kingfisher, for my daughter's bedtime story. From that first weaving many more as she wanted to hear more about their lives Bless her. She's now 34 & has two children who had stories told them when I've been down to B'ton
