I have thinking from some time on investing in good rapitographs and bristol boards.
I've heard that Staedler rapitographs are best for that kind of art.
Can you give me as a professional artist some critique or advice on how to start drawing in similar fashion?

oh thanx
um i have a question what do you do when the microns have those little fibers that stick out how do you get rid of them without messing up the pens

AnaSemSombra [2010-06-03 01:04:48 +0000 UTC]
Ahm... I have a question and it would help me a lot since I also use this kind of texture on my work...
Do you use a ruler, compass or some other material to draw the texture lines? Or is it - like someone said - your awesome robot hand?
π: 0 β©: 1
andybrase In reply to AnaSemSombra [2010-06-03 08:39:34 +0000 UTC]
Most of the shadowing and shading with lines/textures is all free hand. I'll sometimes use a ruler on really long straight lines like borders. For big circles I'll use a compass or circle template. The majority of my drawings are free hand though.

Microns? I thought you used the old fashioned messy ink pens.
Dude, there's so much texture in your pencil! Just look at that face, man.
