Mari bit her lip at the pain in her back as she scrubbed away at the floor. She finally sat up and tried to stretch. Her bad relationship with Siv had only worsened, and she had been given difficult tasks to suit Siv’s spitefulness. She put a paw to her belly as the babe within her kicked. Her belly was getting rounder by the day as her child grew. The appetites of all three vixens had grown as well, leaving them in a predicament with the already low food supplies.

As she heard paw steps coming down the corridor, Mari quickly resumed her duties, and Siv entered.
