As always a beautiful costume, great pose and spot on photography.

If I could bother you with two questions. First, what is the armor and sword made out of? Some sort of foam, resin, sintra? I would guess it is very light.

Also, I am curious, why Snow White? She isn't, at least in the Disney version, the first female character one would associate as a warrior. The 1930's hair style, makeup with the red bow and bright blue and gold is almost at odds with the bikini armor, torn loin cloth and tough girl look. This isn't a complaint, for the juxtaposition of the two is what makes the cosplay interesting.

Finally, a great job on the leather work also, it reminded me of your Katarina piece.

First off thank you so much for the compliments! I love this cosplay so I am so glad you enjoy it as well!!

To answer your first question the armour is made out of Worbla, it is a thermoplastic material similar to sintra however unlike sintra it can take complex curves such as in making the breastplate and shoulder. It has a glue already in it so its sticks to itself when heated, this makes it very easy to work with since no other materials are necessary to make a full suit of armour. The blade is carved out of insulation foam and then covered with Worbla to add details.

As for your second question this is a bit of a longer answer. First off the costume was created to go with an entire group of Disney princesses, so if you did not think Snow White is more of a warrior then possibly one of my other princess friends may fit the bill a little bit better. As for why I chose her in particular is a bit of a two part answer. The color scheme was the main draw that I had towards choosing her, seeing as how most armour is done in natural colors (bronze, silver, gold) and I felt that this was a chance for me to do something unique, using colors that were really visually stimulating. Like you said I also loved the juxtaposition between old world and new and I just loved the idea of this 1930's princess, who in those days would probably never be seen outside a kitchen, maintaining her beauty and grace while also bravely fighting on the battle field and becoming strong and independent. I wanted to show the most traditional of traditional princesses as a strong, independent character who embraces her sexuality and power and does not need a man to save her. And lastly I chose her because, as many people have mentioned to me since doing this costume, Snow White was always their LEAST favourite princess of them all. I feel that being the first princess and so dated as I mentioned, she never had a chance to compete with the popularity of today's Elsa's and Merida's who not only have a modern look but also spunk and personality to go along with it. I wanted to inject that spunk and personality into a classic character many have forgotten about and hopefully make people love her again and appreciate her for being the original Disney Princess!

Sorry for my long winded response but I felt that a questioned as thoughtful and interesting as yours deserved a proper answer!! Again thank you so much for supporting my work!! Always love to hear from you!! <3

Who's Grumpy? I think this is enough to make him anything but, ya know, a grump. That is unless, Dopey decides to cop a feel before him.
