Carnival in GreenMy wife, Barbara, and I spent Sunday afternoon at Carnival in Los Angeles. This lovely dancer wore a huge green headdress.
Most of the islands in the Caribbean celebrate Carnival. The largest and most well-known celebration is held in Trinidad and Tobago. Dominican Republic, Antigua, Aruba, Cayman Islands, Barbados, Haiti, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Sint Maarten, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts, Saint Thomas and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are also known for lengthy carnival seasons and large celebrations.
Festivities include "jump-up" parades with beautifully colored costumes, floats, and live bands as well as beauty contests and other competitions. Carnival also includes a middle-of-the-night j'ouvert (juvé

Such fantastic costumes!!! I'd love to go to Carnival sometime. I've read about it and seen videos of it but because I never have money to travel, I haven't had the opportunity to see it live. Someday though hopefully!

great and colourful carneval shot. would like to visit someday carneval in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. people say it's probably the best carneval in Brazil, beside the one in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. though Rio carneval would also be fantastic to see.
